Mulhouse, Alsace, was an important 19th-century center for textile production in the Haut-Rhin region of France. This design features a light tan base and vertical stripes of abstract ornamental motifs with irregular outlines of dark reddish-brown color that alternate with vertical stripes of pearls of white color and black outlines.
